Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Thursday morning, Valentines Day, my sister called me and asked if I wanted to go to St. George that night.  Sure enough, that night my mom, 2 sisters, and I piled in the car and drove to St. George. A girls trip was definitely needed. When the four of us get together it is non-stop laughter and that was what the weekend consisted of, laughter. I am so grateful to have these ladies in my life, they are my best friends and greatest examples.

My mom wanted to check out the Parade of Homes so that was our first stop. I have always enjoyed looking at million dollar homes I will never be able to afford, not sure why, but I do. So we had lot's of fun dreaming and picking up decorating ideas as we went along.

The rest of the day consisted of shopping and eating. We got bored waiting for mom to try on her clothes at Coldwater Creek so we started taking pictures and it evolved into these lovely mirror shots.

My sister in law introduced me to Swig on our way to Vegas and I definitely made it a priority to go back.  Swig is a little shack that is famous for their drinks. My mom and I were loving the Dirty Diet Cokes.  Diet Coke + coconut = deliciousness.

After just our first day of shoppings this is how jammed the car was. We had our luggage in there too. We couldn't fit it all in the trunk, so the rest ended up on Mogan and Melissa's laps.

Checking into the hotel, the wrong hotel in fact. Moving in or staying for one night? Oh just a one night stay. We had to pile all that junk back in and go to the right hotel.

Saturday we went to the temple which was lovely. Then went back to the Parade of Homes, but it was so busy and the houses were packed so we decided we had seen enough. We continued shopping and  got our toes and nails done. I had been on the hunt for a good lip stain and I found one at Ulta for a steal of a deal. It was on clearance for 3 dollars so of course I had to buy a couple. I am loving it because it doesn't smear off and it stays on forever!

Thanks for the great trip ladies!!!

Vegas Weekend

Last weekend Rob and I decided last minute to go down to Las Vegas. We basically invited ourselves, but I am glad we did. Andrea, Tom, Allison, and Annalise we planning on making the trek to Vegas to vist Ashley and Spencer (Robs cousin and her husband) and that sounded fun to us so we suggested that we join, they needed responsible chaperones, right? ;)

We got there Friday night and Ashley was throwing a Valentines Party for their friends that night. We had fun playing games, eating junk, getting our Just Dance on, and getting to know some new people.

Saturday we literally shopped till' we dropped. Normally this would be right up my alley but after the first few hours my feet, back, legs etc were hurting too bad to really enjoy the experience. We walked the strip and saw the Bellagio fountain show, saw the atrium at the Bellagio, and got my most favorite treat, Frozen Hot Chocolate from Serendipity's.

I had been really wanting see a show in Vegas so on Saturday night Rob took me to see Le Reve at the Wynn. It was AMAZING! The whole time I was thinking how do these people do that?? It's a water show, so the middle of the theater is a round pool and the performers would be in and out of the water. Definitely a must see.

(Horrible picture, but it's the best the iphone could do)

Sunday after church we drove to the Hoover Dam. It was huge and really cool to see!

It was a great weekend getaway! Just what we needed. If only there were a beach in Vegas....

Back at it.

I have a very temperamental relationship with blogging. One month I am into it, the next I am over it. Right now I decided to be into it. Most likely it's just the bordem kicking in. I am in an awkward time frame until the babes comes the beginning of April. 2 1/2 months is too short to try to get a job (oh wait, tried that and failed) but too long to be a full-time nester. Hence, the blogging again.

Today's Thoughts: Pregnancy at 30 Weeks!! (Not the whole 9 Months)

The pros:
- At the end of it I will have a sweet baby girl that I love so dearly already.
- Easy small talk topic with acquaintances.
- Getting to by cute baby clothes.
- Decorating a nursery.
- I get to justify my treat addiction and blame it on a "craving."
- Free entertainment watching my belly move and make all sorts of contortions.
- Only 2 more months (about) until we get to meet her.

And the not so pros:
- Can't sleep at night; too hot, uncomfortable, full bladder etc.
- I constantly feel like I am a little hungry.
- My scale doesn't seem to be working right ;)
- Maternity clothes - especially pants.
- People stare at my belly every time I am in public.
- I have to fully prepare to sneeze so that I won't pee my pants.
- Putting on shoes is a total hassle, especially boots.
- I am so out of shape that I can't even finish a 10 min pregnant Pilates video.
- Anything "fun" seems to be off-limits.

Just a few that came to mind, I am sure I will think of plenty more as soon as I am done. :)

October Fun!

October was a fun-filled month! We still managed to have some fun even though we are both so busy with school. We did a lot of fun things with family, friends, neighbors and even just the two of us!

Rob had a birthday on the 16th and turned 24! His birthday was on Sunday so we partied Friday, Saturday, and (kinda) on Sunday! On Friday we went to dinner and the Haunted Forrest with our friends Preston and Lane, and Rob's sister Andrea and their cousin Allison (and their dates of course). Unfortunately I didn't have my camera to get any pictures, and I don't know how to get pictures off Facebook anymore so I don't have any pictures to show for that fun night.
But on Saturday we went to Tucanos with Rob's family and made haunted gingerbread houses with a couple in our ward, it was a lot of fun! And who knew they made haunted gingerbread kits? Not me!

Then on Sunday, we had a little get together at our house with family and some of Rob's closest friends. Rob really wanted a Cold Stone cake, so instead of being a good wife and making him a cake, I went and bought one!

One day we took a nice drive up squaw peak to see the pretty trees! It is so pretty up the canyon this time of year. I only have the pictures I took on my phone so you can't really see the colors but it was beautiful!

We also went four wheeling up squaw peak and it was FREEZING! I really need to figure out how to get pictures of Facebook or start bringing my own camera because we got some funny pictures of us. I was wearing like a full on camo bodysuit by time we were done. But hey it kept me warm!

We painted pumpkins with our friends Toni and Abbey...

And finally, it was Halloween! As usual, we threw our costumes together the day of so they are nothing too fancy. I had to dress up for school because those 1st graders would have been mad at me if I didn't dress up. So we went to Smiths at 11:50 on Saturday night to buy a witch hat and broom stick (that broke as I was opening it). Rob went and dug through his mom's Halloween closet and grabbed a ghost dress that was really a shirt on him. We went to Rob's parents first and saw the kiddies and had pigs in a blanket, then we headed over to my parents for some clam chowder (I ate at my mom's and he ate at his mom's), and some tricker treating with the little ones. We ended that night at the Richard's (Rob's friend) for a doughnut party! It was a good night!

obviously no one was into having their picture taken..

I need help...

For my multicultural education class we are required to post this video
on some type of social website and get people's opinion on this topic.
Is everyone a little bit racist? Please watch this
video and leave a comment letting me know what you think!
I have to write a paper about the responses I
receive, so don't be bashful! Thanks!

Back to the books

Don't you wish your kitchen table looked this fun?

Well school is here and we are in full swing, even though it is still the first week! I have to confess though... I kinda like school! It's amazing how much more you enjoy it when you are learning about things that interest you and you care about.

The only thing I am worried about is my husband still being alive at the end of the year... All the horror stories I have heard about the Accounting Jr. Core are coming to life and I am not even the one that has to do it! But if I do say so myself, supporting your husband as he goes through it is almost just as hard.. Ok not really because I could NEVER actually do it, so I am going to be the best supporter ever! At least I am going to try..

So here's to a busy/fun/hard/supportive semester!

Our 4th of July!

We started the weekend off at Stadium of Fire with Rob's family.
And because I am the horrible picture taker that I am, this is
our one and only picture from the night.
However, the fireworks were AMAZING this year!
I was in awe the whole time!

Then, on the 4th my parents came home!!
It was so much fun picking them up at the airport,
and even more fun having them home!

I have the cutest nieces and nephews!
And husband! :)

After the airport we went to my aunt and uncles house
for a BBQ and fireworks with my dad's side of the family.
Once again, I am horrible at remembering to take pictures
so we don't have any pictures to show for it,
but we had a great time!

To say the least,
it was a wonderful weekend/day!
